Getting back to being able to breathe through my nose is the major accomplishment of my week.

Airport barmen aren’t good for hot toddies, or much of anything else. I spent half the bottle price on a double(more like 1.5)shot of Jack to lighten my germ load, but it did me no good.

Virus, bacteria, who knows? Is it possible to have both? I kind of hope I got ’em all and now I can be done before winter really turns it on.

Traveling for most of two days allowed me to remember that I own music other than the 3 albums currently permashuffling in my cloud.

I wasn’t missing the rest of my music library at all but I always enjoy the process of rediscovery (however dependent upon my tendency to become enraptured with a single source of ear-delight it may very well be).

The overly-self-satisfied-but-somehow-rightfully-so little cards that came along with my headphones  finally came in handy, and on every flight too. I’m not about to order more cards – they’re a clumsy solution when an elegant one is more than justified.

But believe me when I say these are worth every penny of last year’s Christmas money and I will say so in a calm, courteous, yet wildly enthusiastic tone to any seatmate who comments or expresses curiosity.

They’re on my ears right now, with some Pines in them. What can I say – I like my brain to wind down in a high-quality listening environment.

After oversleeping my alarm by almost two hours this morning I am fairly confident that my least-sleep-ever streak is coming to an end. Readiness for the day depends on it.

People in the world with my same name. I'm related to the other two. So far it's worked out well.
