Of all the ways to spend a day, I like most the ones where I do the very least. They can’t all be that way, which only makes the ones that can all the more precious.
Morning in a city so crisp and fresh I wanted to fill my lungs with it and never exhale. Afternoon drive home in a dreamy haze, heart singing along with Jimi on the radio.
In between, hours of enjoyment, gears turning smoothly and meters shifting like kaleidoscope colors, never the same way twice.
This was my very first day off in this new life that didn’t have a predetermined purpose. And it could not possibly have been put to better use.
